Sophia Pearson, Founder

A former bureau chief and business journalist for Bloomberg News, Sophia has educated audiences and changed perceptions with content-rich stories driven by Wall Street. Sophia started her career in the financial industry at Janney Montgomery Scott, working with analysts to uncover data insights. She founded ModKaf with a mission to blend the best of storytelling, research and investigative journalism with strategic communications to help companies understand their audience and showcase their brands in more impactful ways.

Sophia brings a keen awareness to how the media operates. She plans brand-building campaigns, develops content strategy for companies large and small, and secures placement for clients in outlets such as the Financial Times, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal among others.

Sophia is a graduate of Lehigh University and Columbia University. She has been a fellow of the Journalist Law School Program at Loyola Law School and the Wharton Seminar for Business Journalists at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a volunteer with Compass, a Washington-based organization offering pro bono strategic consulting to nonprofits and serves on the board of The School in Rose Valley, one of the nation’s oldest progressive elementary schools.

Jacqueline Fleming, Managing Director

A marketing executive with 20 years experience, Jacqueline unlocks buyer needs helping brands build strategies that engage, inspire and create impact. Her work spans companies and business units in varying maturity stages and ownership structures, enhancing organizational leadership and delivering award-winning communications and brand management that lead to business growth. Jacqueline understands the value of marketing and communications as the beating heart of a brand’s culture and go-to-market strategy. 

Throughout her career she has been known as a digital disruptor, helping some of the world’s most recognizable brands, including Edelman, Ogilvy, Hewlett-Packard, LinkedIn, SAI Global and LG, transition to digital-first PR, brand narrative and content strategies. She works with clients to accelerate performance with marketing technology, implement best practice and nurture creativity with a consistent and deliberate approach. 

Jacqueline studied undergraduate at Binghamton University and completed her Masters of Science in Strategic Communications at Columbia University in 2016. She is a culture advocate, member of the Association for Coaching, an international, non-profit professional body for executive coaches, and a member of several marketing technology advisory boards.

Julie Andersen

A former corporate communications executive for Deutsche Bank, Julie has helped leaders and businesses develop compelling content across multiple channels. Her tactics have broadened stakeholder engagement, created collaborative communities and delivered organizational transformations.

Julie is a graduate of Boston University and Columbia University. She serves on the board of Laurel House, a not-for-profit that helps individuals of all ages and families recover and sustain mental health to lead fulfilling lives.
